Final Project

Final Paper

Each student will prepare an original research paper. Your paper should develop a research design on a topic related to public administration or nonprofit management and include the following sections: (1) abstract, (2) introduction, (3) (brief) literature review, (4) data, (5) methods, (6) results, and (7) discussion and conclusion. The paper should not exceed 7,000 words (excluding the abstract, references, and appendices). At least one visualization of your analysis results must be included. You may use any quantitative analysis techniques, including those learned in other courses. Please consult the instructor with any questions.

Final Presentation

On the last day of class, all students will present their work as well as learn about other students' works. Students will prepare a 15-minute conference-style presentation.

Components of the Presentation Slides:
  • Title
  • Motivation: 1-3 slides. Include the research questions.
  • Literature: 1-3 slides.
  • Estimation Methods: 1-3 slides.
  • Findings/Results: N slides. Include at least one figure if you have the results.
  • Discussion/Future Steps: 1-3 slides.
  • Acknowledgements/References

Please note that students are expected to ask questions to each other.
